SEO Case Study: Church Supplies Client

Our client began making church candles over 100 years ago. They continue to make and market them today, as well as selling other church supplies. When they migrated to Shopify at the end of 2020, they knew they were behind the competition with their digital marketing.

The company has two church supplies websites on Shopify.

With extensive keyword research, we soon developed an SEO strategy to help the company compete well online. Our strategy used local SEO, organic SEO, link building and content marketing to build traffic.

In July 2021, Digital Business launched the SEO strategy.

We used a mix of the following:

  • Creating content for their blog
  • a backlink strategy that uses guest posts on highly relevant websites with good authority scores
  • local content
  • and on-page SEO

We soon began to see the impact on the search results.

The SEO Results

A year into the strategy, the websites gained over £123,000 in extra sales from search, and a 48% increase in sales. The return on advertising spend (ROAS) was 8.86.

The local SEO strategy also had a significant impact on visibility and traffic volumes. Both brands are now the number one in the cities we targeted for the strategic keywords we identified.

This chart below shows the visibility on search for our client’s main website from the start of the project in June 2021 to the mid-October 2022.

SEO Case Study: Home Care Services Provider

Our client is a high-quality provider of home care services based in Wiltshire, UK. It serves a specific geographical area and needs to find new customers. The people who contact the client for help are usually the spouse of the patient. Or the mature children of the patient.

The owner asked us to help them generate new leads using SEO to help them compete locally with big national competitors. Our goal was to generate 8 to 10 leads per month. The company also worked with a PPC advertising agency to help them generate leads.

Our SEO strategy began by improving their on-page SEO by focusing each important landing page on a single, relevant keyword. Then we started creating highly informative and SEO-optimized blog content, to which we developed backlinks from high-quality blogs.

We soon realised that this strategy needed something more than the organic search we launched. To achieve our goal, we knew that local SEO was the only way to achieve our goals.

Local SEO helped us target specific geographical areas in Wiltshire by using well-optimised service areas. Due to these pages, we soon saw a dramatic increase in traffic to their website.

The local SEO strategy quickly showed results, and organic SEO work contributed to its success.

The SEO Results

Our original goal was to generate 8-10 leads per month for the client. In fact, we generate 8 to 10 highly qualified leads per week. They stopped all their PPC ads on Google and saved thousands of pounds per month.

Our client now dominates its local area for the targeted keywords, and their visibility has increased massively.

We got them a ROAS of 10 (or for every £ they invest with us, they get £10 back).

This chart below shows the visibility on search for our client from the start of the project in December 2021 to the end of July 2022.

FAQs

What are the 4 types of SEO?
  1. On-page SEO: improve your page for search engines through content, writing, code and it’s overall design
  2. Technical SEO: fixing the properties of the site that control how search engines see it, like structure, sitemaps, robots and redirects
  3. Local SEO: getting more visibility to your business on a local level
  4. Off Page SEO: all the link building efforts and marketing to drive traffic to your site
What are the 5 important concepts of SEO?

The first concept is that search engines are a “ranking engine.”

The second concept is that you need to optimize your site for search engines.

Third, you need to include keywords in your site to make it easier for search engines to rank your site.

Fourth, you need to monitor your site to see how it is being ranked by search engines and make necessary changes to keep your site ranked.

Finally, you need to keep yourself updated on new trends in the SEO industry.

Is SEO still relevant in 2022?

If you thought that SEO was going to die out in the next few years, think again. SEO is still very much relevant for the next few years. In fact, businesses with high rankings on Google are seeing more traffic and conversions than ever before.

With Google’s algorithm constantly changing, and other search engines like Bing and Yahoo taking over, there will be no shortage of opportunity for marketers in the years to come.

What are the 3 parts of SEO?

SEO is a term that stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is essentially the process of ranking higher on Google or Bing search engine results pages (SERPS) for your business or product by making your content more visible to search engines.

SEO is made up of three important parts: on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and technical SEO. More recently, local SEO became another important factor.
